Il monitoraggio della potenza e dell\u2019uso dell\u2019energia circuitale \u00e8 un requisito essenziale per la gestione, l\u2019ottimizzazione e il contenimento dei consumi, al fine di ridurre i costi di gestione e di raffreddamento dei sistemi. L\u2019LTC2972 solleva la CPU dal gravoso onere delle verifiche e dei calcoli, fornendo direttamente il valore dell\u2019energia d\u2019ingresso, riportato in joule, e del tempo trascorso, attraverso un\u2019interfaccia PMBus. Combinando quindi misure digitali delle tensioni d\u2019uscita ai POL, di correnti e potenze, l\u2019LTC2972 permette il monitoraggio nel tempo del livello di efficienza di conversione del sistema di alimentazione. Le correnti in uscita vengono misurate mediante una resistenza di sense, un induttore DCR o l\u2019uscita IMON di un alimentatore.<\/p>\n<p>Il dispositivo integra funzioni di sequencing delle alimentazioni, supervisione e registrazione delle anomalie su EEPROM. \u00a0Guasti e anomalie vengono automaticamente registrati in una \u201cscatola nera\u201d su EEPROM, semplificando l\u2019analisi e suggerendo indicazioni sui possibili miglioramenti da apportare al sistema. Per ciascun canale \u00e8 disponibile un pin programmabile di Power Good o di General Purpose input\/output (GPIO). L\u2019LTC2972 si pu\u00f2 connettere ad altri power system manager per coordinare il sequencing delle alimentazioni e la gestione dei guasti di un numero di rail superiore a due. Per una programmazione flessibile e per la lettura dei dati del sistema di alimentazione vengono utilizzati comandi PMBus-compatibili.<\/p>\n<p>La configurazione avviene attraverso il sistema di sviluppo LTpowerPlay<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, che supporta tutti i dispositivi di power system management (PSM) di Power by Linear. Una volta programmato, il dispositivo funziona autonomamente, senza dover scrivere ulteriori linee di codice.<\/p>\n<p>Fornito per funzionare nell\u2019intervallo termico commerciale da 0<sup>o <\/sup>C a 70<sup>o <\/sup>C e industriale da \u221240<sup>o <\/sup>C a 105<sup>o <\/sup>C, l\u2019LTC2972 \u00e8 disponibile in package QFN da 44 pin di 6mm x 7mm.
