Il nuovo standard Power over Ethernet (PoE) \u2013 IEEE 802.3bt \u2013 aumenta il livello di potenza per abilitare nuove applicazioni e funzionalit\u00e0, supportando al tempo stesso Ethernet a 10 gigabit (10GBASE-T) e mantenendo la compatibilit\u00e0 con le apparecchiature IEEE 802.3af e 802.3at PoE pi\u00f9 vecchie. Un PD a firma singola elimina la necessit\u00e0 di un secondo controller PD, riducendo il costo e la complessit\u00e0 del sistema. Che si utilizzi un convertitore isolato o non isolato, la flessibilit\u00e0 di questo componente supporta l\u2019uso di soluzioni di potenza generiche e proprietarie. A differenza dei controller PD tradizionali che integrano il MOSFET di potenza, l&rsquo;LT4294 controlla un MOSFET esterno per ridurre in modo significativo la dissipazione di calore complessiva del PD e ottimizzare l\u2019efficienza, aspetto importante soprattutto ai livelli di potenza pi\u00f9 elevati dell&rsquo;802.3bt. Un&rsquo;architettura MOSFET esterna consente agli utenti di dimensionare il MOSFET in base alle esigenze della loro applicazione; le implementazioni standard basate sull&rsquo;LT4294 selezionano normalmente i MOSFET a 30 m\u03a9 con bassa R<sub>DS (ON)<\/sub>.<\/p>\n<p>Disponibile sia nella versione industriale che in quella automotive, l&rsquo;LT4294 supporta temperature operative rispettivamente comprese tra -40\u00b0C e 85\u00b0C e tra -40\u00b0C e 125\u00b0C.
