Se utilizzati negli odierni ambienti RF e microonde, i nuovi VCO quad band hanno una risposta RF pi\u00f9 ampia e una maggiore flessibilit\u00e0 di frequenza rispetto ai VCO a banda stretta. Forniscono inoltre un rumore di fase inferiore rispetto ai tradizionali VCO a singola banda larga, pur avendo un basso consumo di corrente.
